Context. In the former Cotton Industry in Bucharest, a community of creatives operates. The former industrial spaces, previously unused, have been transformed one by one, starting with 2015, into a cultural and creative hub. Its mission is to generate this sustainable environment where creative entrepreneurs find the necessary resources to test, build and develop their projects. In the subsidiary of this mission, the aspiration of the hub and the community to actively contribute to the improvement of the urban environment is also read. In the early years, the hub's resources were mainly used to transform and equip the interior spaces. With the social and economic changes, such as the pandemic, the parent organization adapts its operating plan to withstand economically with community members. Thus, the reconversion of spaces does not stop, being now a much less visible process, but continuous - event spaces are transformed into airy workspaces, indoor public spaces become exclusively community spaces. The need for external equipment becomes acute. As 2021 was a milder year with people and organizations compared to 2020, certain resources are also directed to the exterexterior public space, to create a necessary place that lacks.
The brief received was to create a representative urban object for the hub, visible from the street: a meeting place and an attractive space for a dynamic community, permanently subject to internal and external tensions.
The meeting and resting place was designed in the spirit of the community and the spaces next to which it sits and which it serves. Dynamic, in tension, multifunctional, no element is just one element, but 3 at the same time.
