The Forth Architecture Annual of Bucharest, 2006
Tuesday, May 16th, the Le Diplomate Hall of the Athene Palace Hilton Hotel hosted the Forth Architecture Annual of Bucharest. This year’s edition of the Annual, a top event for the architects from the capital, benefited from a large participation and has doubled the quality of the presented projects.
The voting system used in the selection of the winners, has been an open-type one: all visitors of the exhibition votes, be they architects, student architects, or non-specialist public. One needs to know that the selection was based exclusively on the votes of the first category, while the opinion of the non-specialists was only used informatively.
The catalogue of the exhibition “Architecture Annual of Bucharest 2006” and the photo album Opera Omnia dedicated to Dr. Arch Eugenia Greceanu, both edited by Igloo Media, have been presented on the occasion.
The festivity was presided by the newly chosen Executive College of the Order of Architects from Romania-Bucharest Branch, represented by Prof. Dr. Arch. Mircea Ochinciuc - president, Arch. Dan Marin, Arch. Dan Agent, Arch. Crisan Atanasiu and Arch. Bruno Andresoiu vice-presidents.
In the presence of the participants, of several top architects, officials, and representatives of important companies from the construction business, the members of the College announced the nominees and awarded the prizes of the Annual.
The award sections were architecture, interior design and rehabilitation, restoration, town planning, and publications.
The criteria for the nomination were:
- the quality of the creative act
- the relation of the project with the city, its contextual relation to the site
- image and urban coherence
- technological and structural achievements
- involvement in the community
