Enlai Hooi

Enlai Hooi is an Australian architect and Senior Associate and Head of Innovation at Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, where he leads research into emerging design methods. His work focuses on the transformation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings, circular design, and the integration of artificial intelligence and digital tools into architectural practice. A WELL Accredited Professional, he regularly lectures and contributes to international educational programmes. In 2025, he was appointed the Scan Design Foundation Distinguished Visiting Professor in Architecture, collaborating with the University of Washington on research into the adaptive potential of vacant buildings.
