Mads Birgens

Mads Birgens Kristensen is Head of Urbanism at COBE, an architecture and urban design practice based in Copenhagen. He studied at Aarhus School of Architecture and began his career at BIG and OMA before joining COBE’s founding team in 2006. Specialising in strategic planning, urban development and the long-term transformation of cities, he has led major projects and competitions, including the Nordhavn masterplan, the redevelopment of Nørreport Station and the North Campus development in Copenhagen. His work focuses on creating dense, mixed-use and adaptable neighbourhoods that integrate mobility, public space, heritage and everyday life within a coherent urban vision.
