Oana Diaconescu

Dean of the Faculty of Interior Architecture at the University of Architecture and Urbanism "Ion Mincu". 

Oana Diaconescu has doctoral studies in architecture and museography, completed in 2012 at the Università degli Studi di Genova, Italy. Since 2013 she has been a lecturer at UAUIM. 

She has a specialization in "Museography, architecture and archaeology, strategic design and innovative management of archaeological areas", Master of the Accademia Adrianea di Archeologia e Architettura, Rome. She became a member of the Italian institution in 2009. She also started guiding teams of students in the international competition Premio Piranesi Prix de Rome, winning, individually or as coordinator, more than 25 international awards and mentions. She has also carried out numerous research internships at: Universita degli studi di Firenze, Technical University of Athens, Universidad de Valencia, Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza". 

In 2018, Oana was a visiting professor at the Technical University of Holon, Israel, and the following year at the University of Tabriz, Iran. 

She has international awards, such as: 2018 - First Prize, "Scuola Primaria - Dolceacqua", Italy, Nomination - finalist project - International Competition - "The Grand Vila Adriana. Designing the UNESCO Buffer Zone", 2021 - First Prize - "Culees in the Light" EMEA Gold SABRE International Award, 2023 - Shortlisted, finalist project - "Acropolis of Athens" International Competition.
