The design intervention proposed within the Transparent Residence residential complex complements the existing architecture with a coherent system of outdoor space design, adding both functionality and enhanced visual identity to the development. Although the architectural design of the buildings was carried out by a separate firm, the urban and landscape design between the buildings — as well as the treatment of the access areas — was conceived as a contemporary extension of the overall image, with special attention paid to detail, lighting, and materiality.
Entrance Area and Urban Plaza
The entrance to the complex features a plaza space composed of white Alucobond planters with integrated perimeter LED lighting at the base, alongside leisure areas. The integrated vegetation brings a natural layer into a predominantly mineral background (marble), while two LED display panels embedded within the planters transform the space into a hub for visual identity and information. The access point is highlighted by a monumental illuminated staircase, framed by an architectural LED element, offering a striking and contemporary entry sequence.
Functional Sequencing Between Buildings
The layout is organized into repetitive yet varied functional modules, rhythmically distributed between the five residential blocks:
• Between Blocks 1 and 2: a green transitional area, featuring an entrance canopy made of Alucobond and ambient lighting, harmoniously integrated with the language of the ventilated façades.
• Between Blocks 2 and 3: a children’s playground, enclosed by low Alucobond parapets with integrated base LED lighting, and shaded naturally by trees for safety and comfort.
• Between Blocks 3 and 4: a lounge area, serving as a social space with linear planters, indirect lighting, and urban furniture designed for relaxation.
• Between Blocks 4 and 5: a fully equipped urban fitness zone, bordered by illuminated parapets and medium-height trees to filter sunlight and provide shade.
Materiality, Lighting, and Urban Identity
The entire courtyard is paved with natural marble, creating a cohesive, elegant, and premium appearance. The perimeter of the complex is lined with rhythmically planted pine trees, contributing both visual structure and natural shade. Perimeter LED lighting integrated into fences and planters provides a striking nighttime effect, transforming the public space into a cohesive visual experience after dark.
Aesthetic Integration and Differentiation
The use of Alucobond elements, found both in public areas and on the ventilated façades of the buildings, ensures strong visual continuity and coherence, positioning the complex as a high-quality urban development. Unlike typical approaches in the area, this project stands out through significant investment in public space, placing emphasis on everyday comfort, aesthetic quality, and integrated functionality.
