Authors’ Comment

The exhibition presents 12 digital and interactive art works exploring the Anthropocene, the relationship between humanity, technology and the planet and the implications that arise from this human-centric context.
BIOS is a transmedia project aiming to explore the Anthropocene and translate it into digital and interactive art. Its name derives from life (gr. Βίος) and the acronym for basic input/output system, which manages data flows between operating systems and the hardware. The topic goes beyond the activities with direct effects, exploring the relationship between humanity and the planet and the implications that arise from this human-centric context.
The exhibition concept signed by RIZI focuses on the experience of exploring the subject from several perspectives. The space was designed in stages, the installations are gradually discovered, as it is revealed behind the translucent textile filters. Interaction plays an important role in creating a multi-sensory experience. The arrangement of the installations relies on the alternation between rational and emotional involvement in relation to visual, tactile or auditory stimuli.
The purpose of the exhibition is to create an empathic and informational bridge between the issues raised by the Anthropocene and the Romanian public, through the interaction with digital art.
