*For whom?*
Between 1979 and 1985 I was a student at Architecture. I liked it enormously. I liked my colleagues, most of them were friends from the High School of Architecture on Occidentului Street. I was fascinated by the professors and I was forever seduced by the spirit of this place.
For 3 years, between 1987-1989, as an employee of the Institute for Design Abroad - Romproiect, I worked in the school's spaces as well, in the workshop dedicated to the National Library Project.
After the events of 1989 I returned here, following a competition for the position of university assistant. And since then, without interruption, I have worked as a teacher, going from assistant to professor.
From 2008 until today, following public competitions, I was elected vice-dean and dean of the Faculty of Architecture and then rector of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism.
During all this time I have seen, analyzed, understood and felt this place in my own way. I considered it appropriate to share with others some of the experiences lived in this space, alongside the people I met. Presenting thoughts, a few spaces that I conceived and realized as an architect, sketches, drawings and watercolors.
I hope that this presentation will be useful to future aspiring students. And for those who live and create in this place, students and teachers, reading the book, may find themselves, reliving some of my emotions and experiences.
Certainly I wanted to write these lines out of respect for the people of the Ion Mincu School of Architecture. A discreet homage to the students and teachers whose passing through this space has made it a magical, blessed, shining place.
I thank you all!
For all these reasons, writing this book, I allowed myself to give others advice for another type of therapy:
We all have memorable moments in life. From time to time we remember them with joy or sadness, reliving emotions felt then, sometime, somewhere.
Against forgetting and depression, to keep alive the emotion of the joy of the moment, open the album of memories, write something about it, or try to capture its essence in a simple drawing.
It is a trivial advice, but also a universal medicine.
Attention, do not consult your doctor!
There are no contraindications, it does not make you gain weight and regardless of the dose or frequency of administration, it does not increase cholesterol.
