The landscape design of the CUG Lake shore in Iasi serves as an outstanding example of inclusive urban planning, one that could provide valuable inspiration for future projects in Bucharest. This visionary project transformed the lakefront area into an accessible and multifaceted space that caters to the diverse needs and interests of the community. At its center, a pavilion built on the platform of the collecting channel that discharges the water from the lake into the Nicolina River, acts as a focal point for the rental of pedal boats, while also offering viewpoints and pleasant recreation areas.

The pavilion on the water:
The pavilion on the water is a modern architectural response, with an integral wooden structure, arranged above the collecting channel, perfectly integrated with the natural surroundings of the lake. Its role as a hub for jet ski rentals not only promotes recreational activities but also connects people with the scenic landscape. The pavilion's accessibility ensures that people of all abilities can participate in water-based activities, encouraging an inclusive and integrated community. Inside, there is the activity of a cafe that also plays a special social role, the view it offers being a pleasant one, emphasizing the role of a center of interest.

Viewpoints:
The inclusion of viewpoints in the design is a testament to the effort to create an environment that is open to all. These scenic views offer breathtaking views of the lake, inviting people to stop, especially as the location is on the border between the municipality and the neighboring communes, appreciate the natural beauty and encourage social interaction.

Leisure spaces:
The lakeside area is dotted with recreational spaces catering to a wide range of preferences. From serene areas for contemplation to vibrant spaces for social interaction, this inclusive design recognizes the diverse needs of the community. Benches, shaded seating areas and adaptable spaces encourage people from different backgrounds to come together and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Playgrounds for children:
As evidence of family inclusion, the presence of well-designed playgrounds provides children with a safe and engaging space for recreation. These play areas are not only accessible, but equipped with age-appropriate equipment and universally designed, making it possible for children of different abilities to enjoy the experience.

Community Centered Design:
What makes Lake CUG's landscape design really stand out is its commitment to community engagement and social inclusion. The design encourages gatherings, picnics and imparts a sense of belonging and unity, demonstrating the potential of green spaces to be powerful connectors in urban environments.

In conclusion, the landscaping of the CUG Lake shore in Iași is proof of an inclusive urbanism that carefully integrates elements for people of all ages and abilities. The water pavilion, viewpoints, recreational spaces and children's playgrounds exemplify a comprehensive approach to inclusion. As a model for future projects in Bucharest, this project highlights the potential to create vibrant and integrated public spaces that celebrate the diversity of urban communities while providing equal access and opportunities for all residents.
