Re-Point is an interior design project about what to keep and reuse and what to replace, about how to change the entire atmosphere of an interior space of a bar and restaurant with surgical effort and minimum trouble for its users.
We used walnut wood, in contrast with the metallic ‘inherited’ elements, and redesigned the bar using its original material - corten steel - as a binder of colors and shades found in the entire space of the restaurant. The elements of the new design were custom made, crafted by local artisans and besides aesthetics they fulfill functional requirements of the commissioner. The result is that of a quite unique melange: a bit precious and sophisticated with raw industrial reminiscences (of a previous design).
In a space that up until recently was perceived as rather chaotic, the new intervention brings coherence and silence and the general sensation is that this was exactly what was missing.
