Starting from the message behind the already established brand, M.A.T. - Masa Taqueria Artisanal, the design aims to create a journey into the Mexican universe, both visually, through the interior design that transforms into a scenic setting, and through the dishes served, which complement and contribute to the overall aesthetic of the space.

The journey through Mexican aesthetics is highlighted by references to handcrafted elements inspired by multiple cultures and by a color palette in shades of red and brick pinks, paired with the nuanced greens of cactus and other succulents.

The contemporary aspect of the design is reflected in the modern interpretation of certain traditional elements, from both local and Mexican cultures: clay objects, perforated screens reminiscent of brick walls – playing with light and shadow, natural wood with decorative wave-like carvings, wavy decorative plaster referencing either the hand-crafted plaster of house walls or the geometric decorativeness of succulent leaves, and macramé accents used for the lampshades of decorative light fixtures. These elements, set against a brick-colored backdrop, evoke the Mexican urban aesthetic, where locals' textiles, hung on balconies and windows, contribute to the picturesque cityscape.

Sustainability is integrated into the design through the use of durable materials with efficient resource consumption, and by promoting recycling and reuse, such as relocating 70% of the furniture and equipment from the previous location, using terrazzo-look PVC flooring partially made from recycled materials, and featuring design objects signed and created by local artists (such as the lampshades for the suspended light fixtures). This approach contributes to a circular economy, emphasizing material longevity and incorporating vintage decorations acquired from yard sales.

The design is made with matte-finished materials, and the vibrant atmosphere is achieved through the layering of various textures and reliefs: flat-toned walls combined with textured walls, macramé pieces woven differently but using the same size and color thread, and other elements that evoke Mexican culture and the intersections between it and the local authentic culture.

All these elements contribute to creating a space that is accessible and approachable for its clients, with special attention given to ensuring the space is functional and adaptable to meet the needs of various categories of people, fostering a positive experience for everyone.
