The project was shaped as an experiment that started from a simple question: how can we work with a very versatile material like oak wood, whose resistance qualities are well-known, but in a new, less common form in furniture pieces: a 12mm thin sheet of oak wood and a 4.5mm veneer.
We approached a familiar material from a new perspective, which led to two main directions of exploration and experimentation:

The Modular System

Usually, oak is associated with solidity, and objects made from oak convey a feeling of durability and indestructibility.
In our proposal, the emphasis is on transparency, fragility, and the subtlety of texture. In a way, we challenge the traditional attitude toward forests: humans face the forest directly. The dialogue becomes sensitive, with a heightened cultural impact. We pay attention to the fiber length of the wood, its smell and texture, and its flexibility.
Combined with natural finishes (beeswax) and the use of screening and separation materials made from natural fibers—from linen to silk—for doors, the transparency and secondary planes visible through these fibers create a new identity: balance, serenity.

A simple act of working with a thin, seemingly fragile material resulted in defining a structural node that generates the image of the proposed modules: a node composed of cylindrical elements with a diameter of 40 mm, milled in a dovetail joint from solid oak wood, strengthened with metal diagonals.
This produced multiple storage prototypes that use modules with different depths: 14cm, 28cm and 42cm, with accessories designed to be made from either metal or ceramics, giving the objects their own distinct identity.
All prototypes suggest ideas of permeability, transparency, lightness, and can be used as standalone furniture or as kits for events, easily adaptable to a wide range of settings: interior spaces—bookstores, exhibition booths, etc.—as well as gardens or outdoor arrangements.
