Luma Lining Furniture Collection

Authors’ Comment

LUMA Lining is a custom furniture collection developed as an exploration of compact HPL – Alucompact by Fundermax. Presented at Archyfest 2024, within the VIM Studio x Decorum stand (co-designed with interior architect Ștefania Bobaru-Chirleșan), the collection features a dining table with two integrated lazy Susans (rotating circular cut-outs flush with the tabletop) and a bench built in the same construction logic, both fabricated by Decorum.

The tabletop is finished in a custom color, with 45° mitered edges and forked legs – a structural gesture echoed by the bench. The bench top was CNC-cut to precisely accommodate asymmetrical legs, emphasizing the linear grain and layering of the material.

The ensemble also includes a series of stools, designed in the same formal language and produced by Euphoria Kitchen Studio.

Conceived for interaction and community dialogue, LUMA Lining served as the centerpiece for workshops and conversations throughout the festival.

Beyond the exhibition context, the pieces are destined for a residential interior by VIM Studio: the table will be used in the dining area, while the bench will be placed in the entrance space.
