Authors’ Comment

The reference of this silver Tabernacle is the interpreted spatiality of a Byzantine church.

If we imagine that we are in a nave looking towards the dome with the icon of Christ Pantocrator, we notice the geometry of the four main arches that rise from the square plan and support the dome of the Savior with the help of four spherical triangles.

The volume of the Tabernacle is an internal "mold" of this spatial principle. It becomes an essentialized church whose facades gradually acquire a concave, light and almost iconographic geometry towards the lower part.

The faces of this symbolic cube have the potential to become apses and anticipate it by the way they receive and protect the iconography made on each of them.

Currently, this ark is a liturgical object in an Orthodox church in Cluj.
