Authors’ Comment

The project was shaped as an experiment that started from a simple question: how can we work with a very versatile material like oak wood, whose resistance qualities are well-known, but in a new, less common form in furniture pieces: a 12mm thin sheet of oak wood and a 4.5mm veneer.
We approached a familiar material from a new perspective, which led to two main directions of exploration and experimentation:

The lighting objects

Aware that the “lamp / lighting fixture” object morally wears out very quickly, we sought an organic, natural, and genuine form, in close harmony with the qualities of minimal-thickness oak. Thus, leveraging elasticity and flexibility along the fibers, we created a “pod,” a shape inspired by nature that is easy to integrate into the landscape; a form where gravity's influence is evident, and the breeze creates unique effects.

The oak veneer used for the lamps has become more of a shell for shadows, boundaries, and mental projections than the outline of a specific object. Depending on how it is combined with other natural materials—textiles, paper, ceramics, glass—the light filter changes, along with the perception of the proposed objects.
The integration of these objects into natural settings is both natural and discreet, and placing them in open spaces, related to micro-landscapes, offers an opportunity to observe how they will evolve over time—aging with the wood, with changes in shape, color, and texture.
