AR House

Authors’ Comment

The AR House is a single-family home in Domnești, in the Bucharest Metropolitan Area. The design theme started from the needs of the beneficiary, those of having a house with a gazebo, a dining area and a swimming pool. The project proposes a scenographic approach to a flat courtyard of approximately 950 sq m. Given that the neighborhood and the relief of the land were not very attractive, the game with the volume of the house and the interior design of the garden represented the main pillar from which we started. The design of the volume aims, at the same time, to be economical, not being a house that starts from the presumption of a large budget. The living and sleeping areas were separated by a strip that marks the 2 accesses to the house, the access from the garage and the one from the pedestrian entrance. The orientation of the living room and the kitchen are towards the courtyard of the house while the sleeping area is oriented towards the south, with the main access to the land. The bathroom and master bedroom were designed as an integrated and generous space, being a theme conditioning and a design challenge at the same time.
