Authors’ Comment

Located at the entrance to Mamaia resort, in a redefining urban context, Aviatorii Residence are two mixed-use buildings, almost identical, which become visual landmarks for the entire area. The volumetric configuration resulted from the urban constraints of the site given by withdrawals and distances, which allowed only the prismatic appearance. The interior organization aimed to obtain a maximum number of units, correlated with the possible number of parking spaces, and generated 13 models of 2 and 3-room apartments, some in duplex system, arranged alternately on levels, so as to create both a dynamic and a differentiation of the facades, due to the position and typology of windows and loggias. The apartments, with small dimensions, but with great flexibility, allowed adaptations and reconfigurations, depending on the needs of different users. The ground floor addresses both the tenants and the city through commercial functions and the promenade-type green space on the boulevard.
