Introduction
Dali Clinic is located on the first floor of a “tower” building at the intersection of Nicolae Caramfil Street and Aerogării Boulevard, offering a panoramic view of 180 degrees over the city and plenty of natural light. The space benefits from two sides with generous windows spanning the entire height of the building. Medical offices and the meeting room are situated along this glazed perimeter. In the central area, which provides access to each facility, there is the patient reception area and the reception desk.
Concept
Considering the project's theme, we aimed to create an atmosphere where patients do not feel uncomfortable and tense, as in a conventional medical office, but rather as if they were in a Mediterranean resort. We have introduced elements specific to southern Europe, such as limewash paint, neutral and earthy colors, handmade ceramic decorative vessels, and organic shapes for the furniture pieces to transport visitors into a relaxed vacation atmosphere.
Finishes
Constrained by the requirements of regulations regarding medical spaces, the finishes were chosen primarily to serve functionality and then to consider aesthetic aspects. The flooring is made of micro-cement screed, poured together with the skirting, without joints. The walls and the suspended ceilings are painted with slaked lime, based on clay, minerals, and natural pigments. To meet patients' needs to admire themselves after aesthetic interventions, and to provide the illusion of a much larger reception area, an entire wall has been covered with mirrors.
Furniture
The fixed furniture has been designed according to the needs of each space: reception, waiting room, offices, and meeting room. Various storage spaces treated with metallic elements across the entire height of the room create a gradient from amorphous and curved shapes in the reception area to rectangular shapes in the offices and meeting room. This gradient in the furniture adds a precious quality and a specific identity to each space.
Conclusion
The project aims to reflect the professionalism of the doctors who will work in this clinic while also respecting the needs of patients and visitors. Additionally, we wanted to move away from the standard image of medical clinics and provide users with an experience reminiscent of resorts in southern Europe.
