From Industry to Culture: Conversion and expansion of the Paromlin complex

Paromlin Complex is one of the most important architectural monuments in Zagreb, located on a plot of land in the south-central metro axis, close to the city center. The Zagreb Municipal Library is looking for a headquarters to represent it. The proposed site is the Paromlin Complex. The volumetric composition aims to double the existing one through a shell that protects the new types of spaces and links them to the past. Paromlin Complex becomes a palimpsest by exposure to previous layers, demolition scars, memories, visible traces from any point of view.
