Authors’ Comment

This house was conceived as a composition of juxtaposed volumes, that are subordinated both to the urban fabric in front and the park behind it and to the staircase that unites the four levels of which it is composed. The clear volumes, with openings cut out with ample gestures, reduce the overall scale of the architectural object, bringing it closer to human dimensions.
The recessed volumes ensure a respectful interaction both with the city and with the vegetation behind the lot.
The same architectural vocabulary is found in the landscaping of the premises.
The large windows are generally protected by vegetation, consoles or canopies and all the lighting has been integrated into the interior architecture thusly enabling the house to light itself from within. The house evolves around a spine represented by the staircase, which, thanks to the ventilation connecting the basement and the 2nd floor, will keep the overall temperature of the house under control without the need for air conditioning.
