Authors’ Comment

A play of simple volumes aided by a file that pierces the house, this composition orbits around the conversation pit and the transition space between exterior and interior represented by patio. The patio volume provides both the natural light needed by the living are and the shade required by a south facing facade. This patio volume is held up by a triangular pilar, meant to emphasize the airy nature of this box, supporting and unloading the effort in a single point.
The open basement, used as a den, further contributes to the balance of the interior temperature.
