Authors’ Comment

In order to convert an existing building with certain ambient value, located in a protected area, we proposed minimal interventions, keeping the character of an XIX century urban villa, in terms of materials, details, colours. We proposed an noticeable intervention. The roof structure modification, introduction an elevator, modifying the staircase in order to comply with the regulations for medical spaces were done with zero modification in the overall shape and facades of the building.
It was interested to note that the Vila, initially designed with 2 generous appartments on each floor and servant quarters in the attic, was initially designed for a doctor, fact reminded by the stone decoration above the door leading to the first floor – villa’s piano noble.
