Authors’ Comment

The Feasibility study aims at contouring the directions for creating the “Novum Forum” University of Science and Technology Park, investing on a land in Livezeni, nearby Târgu Mureș. On this land UMFSTM has already 3 unfinished buildings, in conservation since 2013. The feasibility studies the conversion of the existing buildings and a new building extension.
The difficulty of the project was the constrains of the building already on site, placed at different levels, on a sloped land, and design for a prior student residential building and the new building that mixed medical, teaching and research programs. In the same time providing for separate circulations for patients, students, doctors, researcher and visitors was an added challenge,
The solution was a correlated section where the new building takes on one level and a half of the existing ones. The extension will have 5 operating rooms, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Unit, Imaging Department, main lobby, reception, distribution and laboratory as well as the spaces destinated to students, researcher and visitors.
