Collector's Attic
A space with dual access inside “Fabrica.”
Entrances from RAD and from the garden, up the stairs to the first floor, into an unfinished attic.
Overlapping materials and all kinds of concrete beams, added roof decking and infill made from ceramic blocks—noise.
Over all that racket, a layer of red paint, 12 mm thick (and a bit more). Red from the very first step of the staircase to the last niche with Mircea Suciu’s paintings. If you paint the walls and the stairwell railing, the staircase turns into a perfect exhibition space—for Comănescu on the landing. Scooby-Doo marks the end of the ascending perspective (a mosaic in Byzantine technique by Dimitrie Gora).
Red planes tilted according to the “rule” of the most crooked beam. On the gable wall, a cuckoo without a clock by Iulian Cristea. Beneath the asymmetrically placed ridge beam (following the same rule mentioned earlier), small objects rest on a steel-cable suspended table. The Menina stands in the red niche by the balcony.
Red everywhere except the cement floor. That grey surface continues into the adjacent upstairs rooms and down the stairs into the ground floor galleries.
The red capsule in the shape of an attic, part of the white fair of contemporary art, follows after the RAD Sculpture Park—spring 2025 at Caro.
