Authors’ Comment

The exhibition “Dacia” offers a comprehensive insight into the creative process of the Dacia design studio. As part of Romanian Design Week, the curatorial team presented a selection of mock-ups for car accessories, models, and automotive drawings in one of the spaces of the former Cina restaurant, illustrating the essential stages in the development of Dacia models.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is an oversized drawing board displaying the original sketches by Dacia designers, above which two parallel beams float, supporting wooden models of the cars. The inclined surface of the drawing board directs the visitor’s gaze toward the detailed sketches and recreates the atmosphere of the workshop, evoking the intense moment of the designer bent over the drawing board at work.
