Authors’ Comment

The (RE)ST_24 exhibition presents a series of unconventional lamps, designed and created by the students of Atelier 50E at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, under the coordination of Almalux Lighting. The lamps are made from reclaimed materials — aluminum profiles and casings, perforated metal sheets, metal connectors, lamp holders, and sockets. Robots, oversized headlights, or funnels take the place of traditional floor or desk lamps. The basement of the Ion Mincu House, the headquarters of the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR), was illuminated for two weeks by this collection of unusual objects, which were placed in niches, corners, or under the arches and vaults of the exhibition space.
