Authors’ Comment
The recent industrial heritage has left very visible marks upon Bucharest. The former Semănătoarea industrial yard is one of these very noticeable legacies in what is now an important pericentral area of the city. Together with the developer we managed to give back to the city an industrial hall that had lost its purpose, converting it from an industrial program to office and administration.
Following a sustainable approach, we managed to save most of the existing structural elements and the terraced roof of the hall, adopting a "house within a house" structural concept and building a new facade system, more suitable for the new architectural program.
The interior and facade industrial design references are meant to confirm the presence and the value of this kind of heritage.
