Radical Domesticity is a collectible design exhibition presented as part of RAD Art Fair 2026, within the RAD DESIGN section. Bringing together works that approach domesticity through furniture and object design, the exhibition reconsiders the home as a space open to experimentation, where established ideas about living, comfort, ownership, work and intimacy can be questioned and reconfigured. The title refers to a conceptual reset, a return to the fundamentals of domestic life in order to examine how the spaces and objects around us shape the way we live.
The exhibition brings together works that approach domesticity as both a physical environment and a framework for everyday life. Rather than presenting the home as a fixed setting governed by predetermined functions, it considers it as a changing space shaped by habits, forms of cohabitation and the social and economic conditions of everyday life. The selected works become tools for exploring alternative ways of inhabiting space and for questioning the conventions that define domestic environments.
The exhibition layout places the works within a domestic setting, allowing objects and architectural interventions to be read in relation to one another and to the activities they might accommodate. The exhibition examines the space between object and architecture, between individual use and collective life, and between comfort, care and control.
