A Corner of Ireland in 250 Square Meters
How do you capture a nation’s identity within a compact, yet official space? This was the starting point for designing the new Irish institutional office, a project that blends functional rigor with a deep cultural imprint.
The inspiration came from Ireland’s history and landscape: engraved stone with ogham script, natural wood, Celtic knots in rope, and acoustic panels made of dried plants. These raw, authentic materials create an atmosphere with a medieval spirit, yet feel strikingly contemporary. The carpet, with patterns evoking rugged stone landscapes, and the refined HPL wall finishes alongside glass partitions, strike a balance between tradition and modernity.
Despite its limited 250 sqm, the space was carefully optimized to host all required functions, from consular services to diplomatic meetings, while maintaining a secure, yet welcoming and dignified environment.
This interior is more than a workplace; it’s a physical embodiment of Irish spirit: grounded, elegant, and rooted in story.
