The conversion of an attic into an office area is not just an architectural challenge but also an opportunity of creating a unique and inspiring working environment. In this restoration, the attic was converted in an elegant and functional office area, which manages to combine tradition with innovation in a remarkable way. The space becomes not just a working spot but also an esthetical and functional experience by the correct use of the materials and an exquisite design.
The brick cladding rises carefully on the wall and continues gracefully on the slope of the roof, generating a statement of courageous architecture. The desired continuity of the brick cladding not just amplifies the interior volume but also it is a start of a tactile connection with tradition, opening the way towards a contemporary design.
This novel approach is enriched by the use of polycarbonate sheets, which transforms the slope of the roof in a magnificent skylight. The natural light floods the office area supporting the play between light and shadow which highlights both the physical and the imaginary features of the space. The resulting atmosphere invites the user to meditate while the sun light dances through the translucent panels, revealing the intricate settlement of the structural elements which combines reality with imagination.
We add to this image an element made of corrugated steel sheet, inspired by a paper plane, which attracts attention by symmetry and iconic shape. Strategically positioned so it can be admired from the entrance spot, this detail becomes a focus point which enriched the visual experience. The top ending of this element is RGB lightened, offering the possibility of dynamic and custom atmosphere, which can be adjusted according to the mood and event.
The furniture is integrated in the roof structure, like a natural extension of the used wood. Different furniture elements are fixed to the roof framing, so that they look like they are floating above the floor. This approach creates an amazing visual effect, amplifying the open space sensation. The suspended furniture is not just practical and esthetically pleasant, but maximizes the use of the available space, leaving the floor free and uncovered.
In conclusion, this architectural assembly not just surprises by innovation and creativity but also delivers a unique experience, where light, texture and shape weave together, creating a fascinating atmosphere for anybody. The attic office area becomes a spot of inspiration and productivity, where design meets functionality in a perfect harmony.
