Bob Coffee Shop is inspired by airplane trolleys and other details belonging to the aviation industry: LED stripes as the ones along airplane corridors, corrugated aluminum, a wing shaped table, and various different components like lamps, hooks, handles or safety rails.
The whole ensemble is more of a dynamic machine than a shop, a new equipment belonging to the airport technical underbelly than the usual shop.
“The ‘BOB’ sign is an installation composed of three cylinders that rotate independently, allowing various graphic versions of the logo to align. Its proportions are intentionally exaggerated and large, as the landing wheels of the planes. Same proportion applies to the round backrest of the built-in sofa. The menu itself is on a monitor and shares the same moving graphics as the DEPARTURES tables the passengers are looking for.
