Ecletico is the result of a bold intervention in a historic villa in the center of Bucharest, transformed into a boutique hotel that reinterprets the past through a contemporary lens. The project proposes a functional and aesthetic reintegration of the building, preserving its architectural charm while adding value through new spaces and surprising details.
The intervention brings innovation through the complete structural consolidation, the addition of a new staircase, and the conversion of the attic into characterful guest rooms. The result is a space designed not just for accommodation, but for experience - a place with atmosphere, story, and identity.
The aesthetic is crafted through a creative approach: a balanced blend of Art Deco influences, vintage accents, and contemporary materials - brass, velvet, tactile textures - creating a coherent and expressive visual language. Each of the 17 rooms has a distinct personality, inviting exploration and leaving a lasting impression.
Functionally, the spaces have been reimagined to meet current needs for comfort, privacy, and efficiency, without altering the essence of the original architecture.
Through the reuse of the existing structure, attention to durable materials, and details that ensure long-term maintenance, the project demonstrates a sustainable and responsible approach.
Ecletico fits naturally into the urban context, maintaining its relationship with the street and enhancing the historical character of the area. More than a functional conversion, it is a sensitive reconnection between past and present –-architecture with memory, yet with a forward-looking vision.
