The brasserie on the ground floor of “Creative establishment- La Mița Biciclista” is the most open of the building's spaces, with large windows facing Biserica Amzei Str. and Cristian Tell Str. Light fills the interior in abundance during the day, and in the evening the light of the space warms this corner of the historic district.
Setting up the brasserie was yet another foray into the protagonist's personality - an exercise of imagination that brings out the story with real biographical facts, traits of her known personality and some recomposed ones. If the upstairs bar was an invitation to Mița's exclusive boudoir, the Brasserie is an open door to the guest lounge. A salon in which, if preserved, we would probably have had an ornate ceiling, golden chandeliers, paneled walls and marble floors with floral inlays, velvet curtains, carved and upholstered furniture, silver and crystal ornaments.
Maria Mihăescu became known after an article that recounts the victory of the flower beating contest in Paris on the Champs-Elysees, at the end of the 19th century, with her whip decorated with flowers - a fashionable event of the time that was also held in Bucharest, on the Kisseleff Blvd., annually on May 10th. This incident propelled Mița's career as a high-class escort, back in Bucharest, where she impressed with her beauty, boldness, extravagance, non-conformity and affinity for luxury. The fitted velvet trousers, the bicycle with the silver handlebars, the short haircut, the blouse with puffed cuffs, the white bonnet and her beautiful face are just some of the images that have reached us, surrounding an extravagant, playful, self-assured person who loves the shine.
Today we imagined the Brasserie as a place open to the city where you can read part of the protagonist's personality and the brilliance of the beginning of the century.
