Surf the WAVE – CGI Office

Authors’ Comment

An open floor plan office space, summing 200sqm, dedicated to 10 working stations and a central lounge area. The dynamic of the work is very grounded, and people spend many hours in their solo working spaces, creating 3D imagery and animation. Their type of work request focus, creativity and a certain structure, and that is the key reason that led us in defining a space that is calming and accommodating.
We played with a very restricted colour palette, all neutrals, with few black accent lines, to highlight certain contours and add more stimulus to the eye. There is a lot of fabric in the materiality, from velvet to linen, in order to maximize the “cocooning” effect. Each working station is clearly bordered by wave motif felt panels in order to achieve intimacy and focus and the “wave” as a symbol is carried through the space: the low coffee table and the brass TV wall.
