The intergenerational center in Codlea Municipality addresses demographic aging and the lack of social infrastructure, proposing architecture as an active mediator between generations. Located on a sloped site adjacent to the forest, the intervention relies on a fragmented volumetry that generates a gradient of intimacy through three courtyards: a common area, one dedicated to children, and a retreat for seniors. Inside, the elevation difference is managed by generous ramps that become essential transition spaces for spontaneous interactions. The hybrid structural system combines a concrete ground floor with Glulam and CLT upper floors, providing specific finishes that aid intuitive orientation. The sustainable approach integrates ventilated facades, rainwater harvesting, and a main hallway with movable panels. This bioclimatic space acts as a greenhouse in winter and provides natural ventilation in summer, turning the complex into an optimal ecosystem for community cohesion.
