The project proposes the transformation of part of Casa Radio in Bucharest into an Arab Multicultural Center for Art and Technology, a space dedicated to art, culture, education, and intercultural dialogue.
The concept is based on the idea of a vertical cut through the mass of the building, conceived not as a separation, but as a space of encounter between two worlds. This intervention crosses the building vertically and becomes an internal street that connects the different levels, functions, and spatial experiences of the project. It represents the point where Arab culture enters into dialogue with the local context, transforming differences into a shared architectural experience.
The spatial organization reinterprets principles specific to the Arab urban fabric: sequences of thresholds, alternation between compressed and open spaces, filtered views, and the relationship between light and shadow. These elements are introduced within the existing structure of Casa Radio, preserving the expressive character of the exposed concrete while contrasting it with new, lighter, and more permeable interventions.
The program is distributed across several levels and includes exhibition spaces, creative workshops, educational areas, a library, a café, and gathering spaces. The exhibition route presents different regions and expressions of Arab culture, while the workshops offer visitors the opportunity to explore both traditional techniques and contemporary approaches.
The project therefore aims to transform an unfinished urban structure into an active space for encounter, exchange, and cultural discovery, where architecture becomes a mediator between identities, contexts, and different ways of understanding the world.
