The project addresses two major issues: the progressive decline of Calea Moșilor and the lack of spaces for artistic production and art storage in Bucharest. It proposes the restoration of the Christo Gheorghief House as a cultural catalyst for urban regeneration. The proposal contributes to the area's ongoing transformation by introducing a program that combines artist residencies, studios, research spaces, and an art archive for the temporary storage of artworks relocated during museum restoration. The concept is based on the dialogue between the historic house and the extension, as well as between the two streets bordering the site, with the inner courtyard as its central element. By reinterpreting the merchant house typology, the project reinforces the continuity of Calea Moșilor' historic urban fabric.
