The project explores the potential of educational architecture to activate the boundary between a developing residential neighbourhood and an active industrial platform in the Theodor Pallady area. Starting from the idea that residual spaces can become resources for the city, the intervention proposes a middle school whose programme extends beyond school hours. The sports hall, amphitheatre, after-school rooms and outdoor spaces thus become accessible to the neighbourhood's residents, contributing to the activation of an area lacking public amenities.
Where the residential neighbourhood abruptly ends and the industrial platform begins, there is an undefined interval that the project proposes as the starting point of the intervention. This zone is reinterpreted as a space of mediation through a succession of thresholds and transitions that ease the transition between exterior and interior, between public and private, between neighbourhood and school. The park, the portico, the sports court and the interior learning street function as successive layers that negotiate this relationship, offering the community spaces for gathering without compromising the calm and safety of the educational environment.
At an urban scale, the proposed school is not an isolated object, but a seam between two different realities of the city, one in formation, the other in transformation. Its presence in the urban fabric of the Theodor Pallady area seeks to compensate for the absence of public infrastructure and to offer the neighbourhood a centre of gravity, a place around which community life can organise and consolidate over time.
