The project explores the activation of an urban void within the Historic Center of Bucharest, created by successive demolitions and urban transformations. With frontage to both Splaiul Independenței and Nicolae Tonitza Street, the site represents a rupture in the urban fabric while remaining connected to the memory of the former Animafilm Studio and the historical layers of the area.
The intervention reactivates this fragment through a cultural programme dedicated to film and animation, reconnecting heritage with contemporary urban life. The proposal consists of fragmented volumes that follow the historic plot structure, define a public courtyard, and are linked by a suspended bridge. The material palette, based on travertine and U-glass, expresses the continuity between the memory of the place and the project's contemporary architectural language.
