What can a sacred space look like when tradition is not copied, but reinterpreted?
The project proposes a minimalist approach to the Neo-Byzantine style, shaped through clean volumes, simplified geometry, and a palette reduced to its essence. The central dome, crowned by a cross, becomes the symbolic focal point of a discreet and balanced composition. On the exterior, the 12 vertical fins, inspired by the pages of an open Bible, symbolise the 12 Apostles. They filter natural light and create a play of shadows that reinterprets the traditional concept of the iconostasis — not as a continuous surface, but as a rhythm of elements gradually revealed. Inside, light becomes an integral part of the spatial experience, while the architecture responds to the needs of a contemporary community through accessibility and spaces designed for people of different ages. A project about balance — between tradition and contemporaneity, between symbolism and function, between form and meaning.
