Goethe Institute in Bucharest

Authors’ Comment

The Goethe-Institute in Bucharest has moved into a new building complex. REC was commissioned to take over project management and interior design. The 1.500 sqm. rental space cover 3 different buildings, a major challenge in terms of technology, finances and organization. The new premises were designed with regard to high fire protection requirements. Both Romanian and German fire safety standards were met. Our design concept based on a sincere and minimalist approach: white as the main tone for the walls and the ceiling. The fresh and cheerful atmosphere has been ensured by the wooden floor covering and the corporate colors, used in the classrooms and the new lounge-like seating furniture.
