The project proposes the redevelopment of an apartment located in an inter-war building facing Cișmigiu Park, this very opening to the park, through a generous terrace, being the catalyst for the entire design concept. Thus, the immediate vicinity to the park's strongly vegetal space is reflected in the interior, both in the choice of naturally inspired materials (wood for some of the furniture pieces, rattan, natural stone, marble, natural fabrics for textiles), but also in the dominant shade - green - which is found as a leitmotiv in the custom-made furniture as well as in the shades of the walls, metal hardware, textiles or in the illustrations of the wallpaper with vegetal motifs. Finally, a series of brass accents (the bathroom bateries, brass shelves, lighting fixtures) are placed on top of all this.
From the point of view of spatial configuration, the entire dwelling is configured around the central space represented by the living area composed of two rooms: the living room and the kitchen with dining area, which is also the space with the largest opening to the terrace of the apartment. Initially there was a direct communication between the two rooms, the project proposes to recreate, in a contemporary manner, the glasvand that traditionally existed in the inter-war buildings between these types of spaces.
Thus, the project capitalizes the particular context of the apartment, located in the immediate vicinity of Cișmigiu Park, integrating its natural elements into the interior of the dwelling through the choice of materials, the green-dominated color palette, as well as the general theme. Ultimately, the aim is to generate a coherent dialog between interior and exterior, between past and present, between functionality and aesthetics.
