Located in the heart of Craiova, in a predominantly residential area, this single-family home stands out through its contemporary architecture and a sober yet elegant aesthetic that flows seamlessly from exterior to interior. The project addresses modern living needs while aiming to define a complex, well-structured architectural object with comfortable, thoughtfully designed spaces. At the same time, it is a sustainable development, built to passive house standards, incorporating energy-efficient principles to support a harmonious and comfortable lifestyle in balance with the environment.
Designed for a family with two children, the house offers generous spaces with a strong connection to the outdoors. Natural light floods the interior, which is clearly zoned to provide privacy and comfort. The ground floor hosts the day area—living room, kitchen, and dining—visually connected through a transparent glass partition. The spacious living room is anchored by a central island-style sofa, becoming the heart of the home. On the same level, there's a guest bathroom and a dedicated playroom for the children—a friendly, colorful space featuring flexible play zones, with low tables for drawing, building, and creative games.
Additional functions on the ground floor include a concealed walk-in dressing room behind a filomuro door, a technical room, and a garage. The upper floor is dedicated to the night area, where the master bedroom is complemented by two individual children's rooms, each with its own dressing and bathroom. These spaces are tailored to reflect the personality and preferences of each family member.
The property also includes a leisure annex equipped with a fireplace and barbecue area. It features a fully glazed facade with accordion-style doors that open completely towards the garden during the warmer months. This annex faces a covered pool with a retractable roof, allowing year-round use, and is complemented by a sauna and a small greenhouse. All these auxiliary spaces are designed to offer flexibility and adapt to the seasons and the family’s needs.
Aesthetically, the house follows a contemporary, minimalist approach, with a palette built around natural materials such as wood, marble, brass, alongside modern finishes like Fenix and Corian. The color scheme relies on neutral tones—beige, sand, grey—softened by subtle accent colors. Carefully chosen, the design elements have a timeless quality and contribute to the elegance and sophistication of the interior atmosphere.
