Authors’ Comment
The project proposes the integration of a residential building, extending on two floors, into an elegant, functional and lasting ensemble. An integrated design process includes the active participation of the clients and architects, as well as the input of the members of the local community, who interact with the built environment. For this project, the architects have remodeled and renewed the façades, changed the exterior finishes and materials, and aligned the glazed surfaces and openings, gestures that played a significant role in reaching the highest potential for the existing volume. The improved residence is further emphasized by the landscape architecture that blends harmoniously with the natural elements of the facade – natural stone and wood. The intervention aims to harmonize the presence of this residential building with the local built environment, thus proposing a new strategy for the future development of the community.
