Authors’ Comment
Ever since our first encounter, the future users expressed a desire for functional spaces that are carefully connected to their lifestyle and that will serve their needs without restricting their freedom of movement.
Thus, the interior layout is mobile, and the hallways are limited to what’s strictly necessary.
The exterior design adds up to the interior functionality, through both the compact appearance and the connection between the interior and the exterior, expressed through generous windows for the main spaces, large terraces and balconies.
The minimalistic design has a clearly defined chromatics, based on the contrast between the wooden surfaces on the ground floor facades and the whiteness of the first floor.
The whole building is defined by clear horizontal lines.
Also, without receding from the need of intimacy that comes with the housing program, the building engages in a subtle dialogue with the surroundings.
