Authors’ Comment

An apartment designed in a classic contemporary style for a young person - a free and open space, with just a few furniture items, but many storage spaces.
The proposed design follows the relationship between materials, textures, and colors, the way they are layered in different plans. Black custom furniture and vertical wood elements dominate the space, but the color accents – the green of the kitchen furniture and painted walls or the pink of the chairs - are those that really add character to space.
The decoration items, the lighting fixtures, or the small pieces of furniture come to outline the contemporary classic style of the house.
As a background for the living room, the kitchen is minimalist composed on a neutral wall, which naturally integrates into the decor and image of the living space.

The second room of the apartment, the bedroom, resumes to the same colors and materials - black, green, wood, the same type of space based on simplicity and clear lines. The use of mirror on the full-height closet doors adds depth, doubling the image of the bedroom.

Jury Comments

The design of the apartment is characterised by its balance, homogenous feeling and clever design solutions. The centrepiece of the design is the shared wall between kitchen and living space that becomes a functional, yet aesthetic solution of the space. It combines the practical functions of the kitchen with a range of elegant materials and merges the kitchen and dining space, so it functions both practically and as a design feature. The entire design is supported by a very well executed color palette and material palette.
