Authors’ Comment

For this project, we were tasked with the interior design of a 2-bedroom apartment located in a new residential complex, which meant we had to adapt to the finishes provided by the developer. The clients are a couple with a 4-year-old daughter, and they desired a contemporary and elegant interior dominated by neutral light colours.
We added subtle accents of green and gold to this colour palette to contribute to a cohesive atmosphere. The primary challenge of this apartment was the high beams traversing the spaces, which we needed to incorporate discreetly into the design.

From a functional standpoint, in the living area, we decided to move the TV to the wall opposite to where the electrical outlets were initially planned by the developer. This allowed us to create a more open and airy space. We concealed the column on the wall behind the sofa with a bookshelf to maintain a visually organised appearance.

The kitchen also presented functional challenges due to its compact size and the position of the pantry door. We proposed a kitchen layout with cabinets on three sides, with the window-side cabinets offering storage and concealing the central heating unit in the corner.
In the master bedroom, we attempted to divert attention from the beam above the bed by using a wallpaper with a botanical pattern on the wall behind the bed.

For the child's room, we drew inspiration from her passion for owls and selected owl-themed wallpaper as the central element of the room. However, we expanded the colour palette that we used throughout the apartment to create a cohesive design.

In conclusion, we proposed an elegant and airy interior design, adapting to a space where we couldn't make structural modifications or changes to the finishes for a family with a young daughter. Our team managed the entire project, from the interior design concept to project management.
