"Bonsai House" - Balancing Elegance and Sobriety.
"Bonsai House" is an interior, product and landscape design project for a home with a special connection to nature, located in a tranquil neighborhood in Bragadiru. The name of this project was inspired by the presence of 11 bonsai trees in the garden, which became its heart. The primary challenge of this project was the limited time - only 5 weeks to turn the concept into reality. With proper management and a consistent on-site presence, the team of architects successfully delivered an exceptional interior design, while effective communication between the architects and the client was a cornerstone of the project's success.
Sobriety, Simplicity, and Elegance were the essential conceptual notes in this project. As Voltaire once said, "True beauty arises from sublimity and simplicity." Every aspect of the design was carefully thought out to eliminate unnecessary elements and create a space that exudes tranquility and refinement. Custom-made furniture pieces were designed with precision, offering ample storage solutions while seamlessly integrating into the decor.
In the interior design, classical accents harmoniously blend with contemporary elements, reflecting the personality of the home's residents. Each room has a distinct character, yet all are unified by a palette of warm colors and lush textures. Interior accents are warm, predominantly gold, evident in door handles, light fixtures, oil paintings with gold leaf, and other decor elements that maintain a harmonious color balance. The children's bedroom, with its pastel shades of pink, creates a fairytale atmosphere and feminine elegance, while the other bedrooms respond with hues of beige, champagne, and white, accompanied by soft textiles and golden accents.
The relationship with the garden is essential in this project. The living room is a natural extension of the outdoors, with large windows connecting the residents to the green oasis. The garden, although small, is rich, hosting the 11 bonsai trees and another five species of ornamental plants. This garden is an ideal space for relaxation, family meals, conversations with friends, or moments of contemplation.
This project successfully creates harmony between the interior and exterior, bringing the beauty of nature into the daily lives of the residents. "Bonsai House" skillfully combines elegance with simplicity and offers a unique refuge amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
