Union Plaza Hotel – Bucharest

Union Plaza Hotel is a building with 13 above-ground and 3 underground floors that functionally includes both the 97 accommodation rooms with their reception, as well as a restaurant, 3 conference rooms, a skybar and a lounge terrace.
The wishes of the beneficiaries were those who coordinated the structuring of the concept. The requests were: a 4-star hotel, luxury finishes, "wow" effect and sporty attention to both details and the investment budget. The weight did not come from these, but from the situations that appeared at the site, situations that apparently made it impossible to implement the concept and that needed correct, immediate solutions and that did not compromise in any way the final image of the waters we wanted. dezvoltatirilor.
As materials we used natural textures: solid wood, natural stone, glass and mirror, brass, exposed concrete (preserved by casting). From a chromatic point of view, even if we combined several types of texture and material, we have only 3 general colors: the gray given by the apartment concrete, the cognac of the solid walnut wood and the blue of the natural agate and velvet. The mix of all these creates an alternation of contrasts between brutalist and precious elements, an alternation that has somehow become an imprint of our design in the Horeca arrangements that we design, coordinate and carry to the end.
