The project aimed to transform what was once a poultry farm into a summer country house near Bucharest, yet secluded in a lush landscape that ensures a complete disconnect from the city.

The common area of the house serves as a dining space with an open kitchen, an office area, and a living room, oriented towards the courtyard with a gazebo, a lake, and abundant vegetation—the most important part of the property. This spot in the house is particularly spectacular as the interior space follows the contour of the roof structure. Access to the bedrooms is also provided from here, with two larger bedrooms located at each end.

We generally opted for simple, unpretentious materials and surfaces: microcement was applied to all floors throughout the house, as well as on the vertical bathroom walls and selected pieces of furniture. The beds were crafted from reclaimed wood and plywood. The light fixtures and other ceramic accessories throughout the house complete the concept of "slow living".
The most spectacular and perhaps most representative piece for the intent of the overall design is the custom pendant light suspended above the dining area. It was custom-crafted from eleven ceramic lampshades of varying shapes and diameters, reminiscent of ceramic vessels, anchored directly to the underside of the roof ridge via a bespoke metal fixture. The juxtaposition of the soft, rounded, raw surfaces of the light fixture against the sharp, geometric planes of the roof structure behind it offers an unexpectedly striking visual spectacle.
The lighting fixtures and other ceramic accessories complement the overall concept of slow living. The interior design focused on meeting functional and aesthetic criteria without creating an environment that confines you indoors, but rather gently encourages you to enjoy the surrounding nature as much as possible.
